The Devil is a Liar

I woke up this morning under enemy attack. Satan immediately started telling me to stop deceiving myself. I will never be anything because I’m too old and broken down to serve God’s Kingdom the way I need to.
He went on to say that I was disfigured and ugly, too weak to be a confident man, and had lost my confidence in God because He lets me keep on suffering. The Devil says if God loved you, He would heal you. And then to rub it all in even more, the devil said, “ Don’t think even for a minute that God will ever send you a woman who will love you again. You are done! You will be miserable for the rest of your life, and that’s your own fault, ugly sinner. So get used to being alone and pathetic; you are nothing to God. You are a thorn in His side, nothing more than an obstacle in His way. He can’t possibly use and love you, stupid man!
I began praying and reading God’s Holy Word, and it guided me back to where my confidence needed to be. God is my Jehovah Rapha, meaning “The Lord Who Heals.” His power brings restoration in the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual realms.
Psalm 103:3 NIV: “who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases”. It emphasizes God’s merciful nature, often interpreted as spiritual healing from sin but also applicable to physical ailments, connecting forgiveness and restoration.
The enemy wants you to feel like you’re powerless. He’ll wear you down, planting seeds of doubt when the pain feels overwhelming or the journey seems impossible. He’ll whisper that you have no strength left, no hope in sight. But listen… he’s wrong.
God has given you authority, so be brave.
“I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.” -Luke 10:19
You have the power to rise above, to overcome the very things that threaten to break you. It doesn’t mean the road won’t be challenging, but it means you’re equipped for the fight.
Think of Elijah, worn out and scared, hiding in a cave after fleeing for his life. In his despair, he cried out to God, wanting to give up. But God didn’t leave him there. He spoke to Elijah in a gentle whisper, reminding him of His presence and strength. Elijah knew, deep down, that even in his weakest moment, the power of God within him was enough.
Then there’s Paul, who faced endless battles, imprisonment, beatings, and shipwrecks. But no matter how much the enemy threw at him, Paul stood firm because he knew the power he carried through Christ. He wrote letters of hope and strength while chained in prison, reminding us all that our circumstances do not limit God’s power.
David, Ruth, Job… each one of them walked through seasons of struggle and pain, but they all had one thing in common: they knew the power they could wield. They knew that no matter how fierce the battle, God had given them the authority to stand firm and rise from the ashes.
And that same power lives in you. The enemy will try to convince you otherwise, but don’t let him. Get back up, rise, and crush the enemy, reminding him where he belongs, beneath your feet. Every time you’re tripped again, look up, plant your hands on the ground, push, and rise again. And again. And again.
You’re stronger than you think, you have been given authority, and you’re never fighting alone.
Jeremiah 29:11, a well-known passage from the Bible that offers hope and encouragement, states, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Equip yourself for battle so you will be ready for the enemy’s attacks. The closer you get to God, the devil will throw more complex schemes at you. The enemy will come after you hard, using the sins of your past against you.
Ephesians 6:10-17
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Don’t give up on God because He will never give up on you. Be strong, the battle is real.

Larry,
Thank you for posting this article. I agree the devil is a liar! I am so glad you were able to chase those thoughts of not being enough and not being able to find another woman to love and who will love you back! You are enough! And when you are ready you will find another woman to love and who will love you back.
Just realize it may take some time. And don’t try to rush it. It wasn’t until this past summer that I got any kind of desires back to even think about dating much less trying to love someone else. And that is 1 & 1/2 years after I lost my wonderful wife! For some it doesn’t take as long and for others it takes longer. So I am seeing someone whom I am very fond of, and in some respects with her issues, I am thinking God put me in her life to give her the kind of love, support and respect she so desperately deserves and needs. And it has being healing for me too!
I wish you God’s help in whom ever you are looking for. And don’t be surprised if she comes in the one the most obscure ways possible. I never went to sing karaoke looking for love, I just love to sing! But I met the woman I just mentioned above there. I am so glad we made eye contact!😃

Larry, sometimes the best things take awhile. Years. God’s never in a hurry. I just praise Him. It doesn’t erase the absence, but it’s a comfort. How many before us have had to wait?
God, please help this gentleman get through this time of waiting. I know You always give the best gifts. Maybe one of those angel hugs you give, would be nice. Amen. 🙏
